Lakeside Lodge

lakeside lodge

location

Lakeside Lodge is located in a prime position atop the Falls Creek Village, allowing guests true ski in, ski out access to beginner, intermediate and advanced riding.  The Falls Express, Eagle, Summit, Gully and International lifts are all downhill from the lodge, allowing you to start your day exactly where you want to be skiing and boarding.

Across the road from Lakeside is Central Snow Sports, where all of your winter sports gear can be hired and where lodge guests receive a 10% discount.

You can also easily access the village bowl from Lakeside on skis/board or via an outdoor staircase approximately 100m from the front door.

Getting Here by Road

Falls Creek is the closest alpine resort to Brisbane, an easy day’s drive from Sydney & four and a half hours drive from Melbourne. There are lots of options to get to Falls from driving all or part of the way to letting someone else take care of that for you.

Drive

The road to Falls Creek from Mount Beauty gently winds uphill for 32 kms, so take your time and please drive carefully. During winter it is compulsory to carry snow chains however the road is regularly cleared of snow as required and chains are rarely fitted.

If chains are required then drivers will be notified by signs along the road ''Fit Chains Here''. These signs will differentiate, depending on whether 4 WDs are impacted or not.

No petrol is available at Falls Creek so make sure you fill up before you come up. In winter, diesel vehicles should fill up with Alpine Diesel from Mt Beauty or other local suppliers to ensure their vehicle works correctly in the cold conditions.

Drivers should also check at the local service stations their anti-freeze levels. This can be done with a ''Glycometer'' and may save you a lot of time and money.

Once at Falls Creek, the Accomodation Transfer Service will get you up to Lakeside Lodge for a fee, but be aware that Friday nights and Sunday afternoons are the busiest times for these services and regularly incur waiting in excess of one hour.

If you can avoid these peak times at the ATS terminal by arriving Sunday morning or Friday throughout the afternoon before the service really gets busy you will enjoy a much smoother transfer experience. Traveling on other days may also be an option if they can match with your plans.

Phone the info desk at Falls Creek Resort Management on 03 5758 1200 for more advise on the Accomodation Transfer Service.
